Thailand 2017
13 februari 2017 - Chiang Mai, Thailand
Today was our cooking class day.
The class started with a visit to the garden, where we received explanations about the herbs that we were going to use in the meals we were expected to prepare.
After this instruction we had to put on a chinese straw hat so the teacher would able to keep the group together. At the market she explained the other ingredients like the fish sauce, the different kinds of rice and basil.
Back in the cooking school we had to take place at a table on our KNEES, nog very comfortabel.
For each dish that we choose we got the ingredients and each of us had a wok and a stove to cook on. It was very well done.
We made 7 dishes
Pad Thai, specific fried rice noedles with chicken, (Both)
Little spring roll (Both)
Massaman curry(Both)
Tom Yum Koong soup (Anja)
Coconut soup (Maggy)
Glasnoedel salad, (Maggy)
Banana with coconutmilk (Maggy)
Stikkie Rice with Mango (Anja)
We had to eat them all, that was the difficult part of the class.
The group was very international, we had 1 German, 1 French, 1 American, 2 Canadians, 4 Taiwanese and 2 Persons from Korea, Maggy decided to ask them if they were from North or South Korea, they reacted with an incredible laugh, they really saw it as a good joke.
At the end of the class we all received a recepee book, which is very handy at home when we are going to make these delicious dishes for you.
Tomorrow we are leaving for a 3 days jungle trekking, so there will not be any update until we are back.
BUT WE WILL
Ik wil jullie kunsten vanuit de keuken weleens proberen.
Veel succes voor de komende 3 dagen.
Ben nu al benieuwd naar de jungle verhalen . Heel veel genieten.
jullie nieuwe gerechten daar opgedaan.
Niet verdwalen en bij de groep blijven in de jungle, anders zullen we al dat lekkers nooit proeven
Veel plezien
