The North Sea cycling challenge

This new travel blog is about my cycling adventure, following the Dutch coast all the way from a place near the Belgium border up to the last city in the north near the German border.

I have started my traveling on Monday august 21 st. In the afternoon, when I went to my friends, who live there, to bring my dogs and my car.

I slept there and the next day my friend Lan brought me to a train station, in order for me to get to the south of the Netherlands with my bike and start my cycling trip.

That day was apparently not a very good day, somehow I was nervous for the train part with my Trike, but that was really a peace of cake. But because I was nervous I forgot my very important bag in Lan's car, lucky for me, he was not too far and he was able to bring it back to me.

I bought my train ticket and realized I did not have my phone in my pocket. I lost my and everything I had in the cover, including my driving licence and my credit card.

I spend some time to check if somebody had found it, and the made some calls to deactivate my card and report my driving licence as missing and then decide to step on the train as planned. I still had another bank card, so, no need to go home.

When I arrived at my destination, I bought a prepaid cell phone to allow contact with my loved ones.

Then finally on this beautiful day, bad luck was following me and I had my first flat tire, I had no pump and therefore just rang the bell at people's houses and found a very nice man who helped me by bringing me to the bike shop as the tire could not be fixed. That men made my day a bit better.

Finally I arrived at the camp site and stayed there to avoid any more bad things to happen.

As you probably understand, the fact that I do not have a smartphone anymore, it is more complicated to make pictures or films and to update the blog, as I need wifi to do it on my tablet.
